Research and Graduate Studies in Mathematics and its Applications: A Network Approach (RGSMA).

RGSMA seeks to promote training and research in biomathematics supported by new results from research in the areas of pure mathematics, such as analysis and geometry. This project involves researchers from 8 univiersities and institutions located in Sub-Saharan Africa in Botswana, Zambia, Nambia and South Africa but with extended influence in the region.

Lead Researcher

Professor Edward M Lungu:

Dr. Lungu has been an Applied Mathematics Professor at The Botswana Institute of Science and Technology (BUIST) and The University of Botswana for over 20 years. Dr Lungu has numerous publications and awards to his name including the prestigious CIAM Su Buchin Prize in 2011, for his fundamental contribution to developing teaching, research and organizational structures for Applied Mathematics in Southern Africa.
